Welcome to Murraya Function Conference Centre

Our function centre and accommodation facility, Murraya (pronounced Mer-ray-a),
is named after the sweet smelling mock orange blossom shrubs thriving in our gardens.

Its botanical name is Murraya exotica (orange jasmine). An evergreen fast-growing shrub, it grows to eight feet and its leaves are dark green consisting of seven to nine leaflets. Its flowers are white, very fragrant and about one inch across. It has red oval berries and suits temperate and sub tropical districts (perfect for Cairns!). It is native to the East Indies.

What we have to offer

Murraya: functions and accommodation comprises a function room that is perfect for a whole range of events like business planning days, small workshops, presentations, parties etc and accommodation that offers incredible value for money.

Some plant trivia….

Murrayas generally flower during the warmer months after rain.

It is easy to grow and, with its divine smelling flowers (similar to that of another favourite, the gardenia), makes it a very popular inclusion in many gardens.
